The Citizenry is an online shop featuring a collective of artisans, designers, and makers who work collaboratively across cultures and continents to craft a handful of exclusive homewares. Founded in 2014, the small women-owned company celebrates the people, stories, and process behind their products.

"We believe our homes should be reflections of the journeys we take. Our personal spaces deserve designs with a soul, a story, and a purpose. It's why we travel the world to develop our exclusive collection of home goods. Country by country, we partner with master artisans, blending our modern style with their time-tested techniques. By personally traveling to each country and using only local materials, we establish sustainable relationships with our artisans, enabling us to offer high quality handmade goods at a reasonable price."

Browse the newest collection, and check out the stories behind each artisan and product.

The new collection from Australian homewares label Arro is exactly the right dose of color inspiration that I've been needing: a modern mix of neons and pastels nestled together amongst funky patterns and bold prints. Take a peek at the rest of the lookbook, here.

Our sweet friends, Tara and Colin threw us the most amazing co-ed baby shower back in July. They poured so much love into every single detail and it all came together beautifully. It honestly was the kindest and most thoughtful thing to help celebrate the upcoming arrival of our little one.

Appropriately themed "Garden Party in the City", friends sipped on mimosas, nibbled on small bites, played games, and admired the amazing view of the Chicago skyline from Tara and Colin's top floor flat...

It was such a special day for us! Thank you to everyone who attended and gifted us with such awesome things for Baby Trummer. We are so thankful to have and be apart of such a supportive and amazing community of friends.

During our babymoon in Portland, we were very lucky to have two additional baby showers hosted by family. The love, support, and anticipation over our little one has been really incredible to experience. We arrived back to Chicago with boxes waiting at our door filled with baby gifts, and sweet keepsake notes. We are forever grateful for the help in getting us prepared for our little babe.

So you know what I'll be up to this weekend ... writing a ton of thank you notes!

Enjoy your weekend, friends.

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag / Happy Birthday to my handsome husband, Daniel!

Everyday I thank the universe for orchestrating the crossing of our paths. Thank you for being the kind, gentle, hilarious, and ├╝ber supportive partner that you've always been. You are truly a gem of a human being and I feel so lucky to be apart of your life. Here's to celebrating the day that you were born (and all the amazing things you've done since then). Looking forward to being right by your side as you blow out many more candles over the years to come. Ich liebe dich immer als, mein Schatz.

Evening walks around our Chicago neighborhood have prompted several "5-year-plan" discussions about what kind of lifestyle we want for our growing family, where we'd like to put down roots, and brainstorming a wish-list for our first home. I've always loved exploring interiors, and recently I've taken a liking to studying interior styling (with Scandinavian, German, and Australian aesthetics being my favorite.) I've been taking mental notes and pinning inspiration with the hope that we can one day come home to a space like this beautiful, airy, Melbourne flat sometime in the near future...
