MUST-HAVE MONDAY: KINIVO MINI SPEAKER

Posted on: December 1, 2014

Music has a special role in a our home. It's what helps us crawl out of bed in the morning, inspires us while we cook our evening meal, and most recently, what soothes Naomi into a blissful sleep each night. Our little flat is constantly humming a tune—anything from the soft notes of Brazilian jazz to the latest BeyoncĂ© track.

It's been fun exposing Naomi to a wide range of musical genres, and so easy to do with the help of the Kinivo mini speaker. It puts out amazing sound quality while also being functional— because it's so small, I can place it anywhere in our home without it being obtrusive. All I have to do is plug it up to my iPhone 6, and turn on my favorite music app!

Since majority of my family members are also music-lovers, I'll be gifting the mini speaker this holiday season, it definitely makes the perfect stocking stuffer...

THANK YOU...

Posted on: November 24, 2014

It's been feeling a lot like Christmas has come early this year. Between our baby showers and since bringing Naomi home, we've been receiving the sweetest and most thoughtful gifts from family, friends, and even new acquaintances. We feel incredibly lucky to have such a strong support system as we figure out this whole parenthood thing.

I still believe in the power of a handwritten thank you note. Even though sending a quick 'thank you' text, email, or message on social media can be done with a tap of a finger, there's something to be said about spending a little extra time to say thank you to those who have gone out of their way to do something special for you.

When it comes to stationery, I'm a sucker for beautiful design and quality card stock — I literally could spend hours online just browsing designs (don't even get me started on holiday cards!) so, when the kind folks over at Tiny Prints asked me to test out their customized thank you notes, I jumped at the opportunity and I'm so glad that I did.

Tiny Prints is known for their large selection of stationery, invitations, and announcements featuring beautiful designs from graphic artists, illustrators, and small press companies. I had a difficult time choosing the design I wanted only because there were so many options to choose from. I ended up selecting a neutral baby themed design (since we didn't know the gender of our little one at the time) with a custom printed signature. The cards turned out beautifully and I really enjoyed writing sweet messages on each card sporting our names at the bottom!

If you're in the market for invites, personalized stationery, or holiday cards, be sure to browse the beautiful collections at Tiny Prints! I'm already having trouble narrowing down my favorite birth announcement designs...

INTRODUCING...

Posted on: October 30, 2014

Daniel and I are so proud to announce the newest addition to our family. After 9 months of anticipation and curiosity about the gender of our little one, we happily welcomed a sweet baby GIRL (!!!) into the world.

Naomi Camilla Trummer
Born October 2, 2014 at 10:24 p.m.
7 lbs, 1oz.
20 inches long

Life is happening too fast. It's been just over 3 weeks since we brought our baby girl home and already she's grown and changed so much, apart of me wants her to stay tiny forever.

We've been adjusting and settling in well. Things have been pretty cozy and quiet as we learn about our little one; it's been really nice to slow down, take it day by day, and spend time savoring the new energy between us.

This chapter of our lives has been the best yet—it's been such an amazing journey from start to finish. We are so happy to finally have Naomi here with us, and to begin our lives as a family of three.

BABY BUMP UPDATE: 40 WEEKS!

Posted on: October 1, 2014

It's been an amazing 9 month stretch! Today marks my 40th week of pregnancy, and while I'm super anxious to meet our little one, I'm grateful to have made it to my due date without any complications or unexpected hiccups. My journey to motherhood has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I can only imagine how much more amazing it will be once I have my baby in my arms.

Maybe it's my mama-to-be instincts, but somehow I always knew we'd end up having an October baby. Autumn has always been my favorite time of year and now with a new birthday in the mix, we'll have even more reason to celebrate!

Life is so surreal. We've been waiting for this moment for a long time, and now that it's finally right at our fingertips, we couldn't be happier.

We're ready when you are, little one.
