In the past I've always dreaded the process of moving into a new apartment—it always seemed so cumbersome to (re)decorate and find the right places to put all of our things. I think the disconnect has always been in selecting flats that have been pre-decorated (paint on the walls, built-in shelving, and etc.). We've found that trying to create a unique space is difficult when you have certain decorating limitations. We've always wanted to design a place that really represents our lifestyle—a creative process that usually begins by starting fresh with a clean slate.
This time around, we have a blank canvas to build on. I'm excited to start this ongoing project, especially since it will allow Daniel and I to piece together the cozy and functional home we've always wanted.
Lately, I've been especially drawn to clean / minimal living spaces that feature loads of natural light, and are furnished with neutral tones and plant life. I like using the beautiful living rooms above as design inspiration.
